"30 Animals That Made Us Smarter" - Beetle pulling Water from Air
By 2025, nearly a quarter of us could be living in places where water is scarce. Scientists trying to tackle the problem have turned to the fogstand beetle for inspiration.
Biomimicry is a fascinating subject - technology has been inspired by nature since the beginning of human invention, and the BBC World Service podcast “30 Animals That Made Us Smarter” tells the stories of innovations that found their ideas in animals.
I animated 8 of the stories (4 in each season) for the BBC’s website and online platforms.
This one tells the story of a clean water capture system inspired by the fog stand beetle.
