"30 Animals That Made Us Smarter" - Cow inspired waste water solution

Untreated sewage leads to poor sanitation and disease around the world. Its effects are felt strongly in India, and Bangalore resident Tharun Kumar turned to cows for a solution.

Biomimicry is a fascinating subject - technology has been inspired by nature since the beginning of human invention, and the BBC World Service podcast “30 Animals That Made Us Smarter” tells the stories of innovations that found their ideas in animals.
I animated 8 of the stories (4 in each season) for the BBC’s website and online platforms.
This one tells the story of a zero-power sewage plant inspired by cows.
